I love your eloquent and amusing choice of words Rosie, and so agree on the ‘greater force’ feeling when out ‘on the ice’…I also have to agree with your comments regarding our National Transport system – another late return journey home from London the other night on the train!

I head to the Pole in April 2012, but my journey feels like a vacation (75 miles in 8 days) compared to your amazing challenge.

It does give you a whole year to make a really wonderful film of the most interesting part of a polar expedition: getting to the damned start line!
